Privacy Policy

RedDimmer works locally on your Mac. This policy explains the app’s settings and optional location access, plus this website and its contact form.
1. Settings on your Mac
Brightness, warmth, presets, app shortcuts, schedules, language, app exceptions and display preferences are stored on your Mac, including your selected city or optional coordinates. RedDimmer has no account, cloud sync, advertising or app telemetry.
2. Optional location
Location is requested only when you choose Use my location. Coordinates are used and saved locally to calculate sunrise and sunset; the app does not send them to us. You can select a city instead and revoke permission in macOS settings.
3. This website
This website has no advertising trackers or analytics scripts. Your language choice is saved in your browser’s local storage. The web host may process standard request information, such as IP address, browser, page and time, to deliver and protect the website. The contact form uses an essential session cookie to validate submissions and prevent unwanted requests; it is not used for advertising or analytics.
4. Contacting support
When you use the contact form, we receive your email address, optional name, topic and message, plus the submission time, IP address, browser information and approximate city, region and country from a local GeoIP database. This does not access your device’s location permission or precise GPS location. We use these details to answer your message and handle spam. Rate-limit records contain a hash of your IP address and attempt times; only attempts within the last hour count towards the limit. Messages are sent to our support inbox, where mail providers may process them. Do not include sensitive information. We retain support messages only as needed to handle your request and meet legal obligations; information may also be disclosed when legally required.
5. Your choices and requests
Change local settings in the app, revoke location access in macOS, and clear this site’s browser storage to remove its language preference. Use the contact form to request access, correction or deletion of information you have sent us, or to raise a privacy concern.
